This workshop explores everything that goes into booking gigs successfully. We’ll cover the assets you need before approaching a venue, how to contact venues, ways to make yourself stand out, what questions to ask before accepting a booking, how to negotiate pay, how to hire and communicate effectively with your musicians, and much more.

Whether you’re just getting started and don’t know where to begin, or you’ve already been booking gigs and want to expand your opportunities or refine your approach, this workshop is for you. We’ll focus primarily on booking public performances, with some discussion of private events as well.

About Lilan Kane

Lilan Kane is a Berklee College of Music graduate with a degree in Music Business and Management. For more than 20 years, she has worked as a performer, bandleader, booker, and manager, appearing at venues and festivals throughout the country.

In 2016, she founded the private event band Hella Fitzgerald, managing bookings, clients, and musicians. Her clients have included Google, Meta, NASA, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Golden State Warriors.
