Jazzschool Ensemble Placement Policy
New Students:
New students are placed into one or more ensembles based on a live audition. To begin the process, submit the Ensemble Application Form. Once we receive your application, we will contact you to schedule your audition.
Returning Students:
Returning students may continue in the same ensemble(s) from quarter to quarter without re-auditioning, pending approval from the program and ensemble director.
If you’d like to switch to a different ensemble, you may be asked to audition again. Please fill out the Ensemble Application Form; an audition may or may not be required, depending on the ensemble(s) you’re applying for.
All students must reapply each quarter.
Submit your application at least three weeks before the start of the quarter.
Late applications will be considered only if space is available.
Please note: Ensemble and program directors reserve the right to make personnel changes each quarter to maintain an optimal learning environment.
