Create your own ensemble and schedule rehearsals that work for your group.
Enroll your existing band or ensemble for guided weekly rehearsals at the Jazzschool. The Ensemble Coaching Program is designed for preformed groups that want to rehearse regularly with the guidance of an experienced ensemble director. Groups are matched with a Jazzschool faculty coach based on musical style, experience level, scheduling, and instructor availability.
With faculty guidance, your group will work on:

Developing improvisation and soloing skills

Strengthening ensemble communication and interaction

Refining dynamics, phrasing, time feel, and overall cohesion

Developing repertoire and arrangements
Open to groups of all levels, from beginner to advanced. Participation in the end-of-quarter Student Performance Series is optional.

Instructors: Drawn from the Jazzschool ensemble faculty

In some cases, the Jazzschool may be able to help fill out your group with applicants from our ensemble program—for example, if you need a horn player or drummer. Inquire for details.
