This hands-on introduction to piano is designed for vocalists and songwriters who want practical keyboard skills for accompanying themselves, rehearsing, writing songs, and communicating musical ideas. The workshop focuses on simple, adaptable approaches to harmony that can be applied across jazz, soul, and R&B styles.

About Kalil Wilson
Kalil Wilson is a genre-crossing vocalist and educator whose work spans jazz, R&B, classical, and pop. A graduate of UCLA’s Ethnomusicology program, they began in vocal and opera studies before discovering jazz.
Their albums Easy to Love and Time Stops reflect their work across multiple musical traditions. Kalil has performed at the Metropolitan Opera House, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and the Hollywood Bowl, and brings a global understanding of vocal traditions to their teaching, helping students access the core principles of expressive singing.
