Hailing from Berkeley, California, Dr. Remee Ashley is a Bay Area-based multi-brass instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and educator with the hope to maintain and strengthen the music community of his hometown. Dr. Ashley has performed at a myriad of prestigious venues such as the Apollo Theatre, Carnegie Hall, Davies Symphony Hall, The Ford Theatre, and the Fox Theatre. In addition to sharing the stage with critically acclaimed musicians such as Vince Mendoza, Paquito D’Rivera, Maria Schneider, Wayne Bergeron, Terrace Martin, Ledisi, and Kurt Elling, he has performed with world renowned ensembles such as the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, Arturo O’Farrill’s Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, and Marcus Shelby’s Jazz Orchestra. After receiving his Bachelors and Masters of music at the Manhattan School of Music and Doctorate of Music Arts at the University of Southern California, Dr. Ashley now offers mentorship and guidance to a variety of schools in the Oakland and Berkeley districts.
