Brian Sheu

Brian Sheu is a jazz and fusion guitarist from San Jose, California. He earned an Associate Degree from the Musicians Institute in 2011, graduating with the distinction of “Most Outstanding Player,” and later completed a B.A. in Jazz Performance at San Jose State University in 2015. Sheu has studied with many esteemed session and touring musicians, including Dean Brown, Allen Hinds, Scott Henderson, and Doug Rappoport. In the Bay Area, his teachers have included Aaron Lington, Rick Vandivier, John Shifflett, and Jason Lewis, and he has performed with artists including Paul Hanson, Remy LeBoeuf, Patrick Bartley Jr., and the 8-Bit Big Band. Brian is currently a member of the Bay Area funk-jazz group the Huney Knuckles, featuring GRAMMY-winning saxophonist Tony Peebles of the Pacific Mambo Orchestra, drummer Darian P. Gray, and keyboardist/bassist Kevin Wong. Brian is also a co-founder of the funk-fusion video game cover band Super Soul Bros, performing at festivals and major gaming conventions across the country, including E3 and PAX. Since 2016, he has worked with Ubisoft San Francisco on transcriptions, etudes, and lessons for the game Rocksmith.
