Azure McCall, known as Hawaii’s “First Lady of Jazz,” is a multi-award-winning vocalist celebrated for her deep connection to the vocal traditions of Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae, and Ella Fitzgerald. With warmth and humor, she brings every song to life. After releasing her first CD, Body and Soul, she was invited by jazz legend Ray Brown to tour as his vocalist, launching an extraordinary career. She later became the first singer to work with Freddie Hubbard’s band and has also performed with Frank Morgan, Tennyson Stephens, Joe Lovano, Geoffrey Keezer, Curtis Lundy, and Dizzy Gillespie. In 2008, President Barack Obama invited her to perform at his pre-election party—an honor she jokingly credits for his victory. Azure has also been a featured jazz vocalist on Celebrity and Royal Caribbean Cruises, performing in more than 50 countries and sharing her passion for jazz with audiences around the world.
