This workshop introduces Piano by Ear, a book and audio series created by pianist and educator Andy Ostwald. The series guides pianists step by step, beginning with simple two-chord jams and progressing toward fully developed jazz, blues, and rock improvisation.
Participants will receive their choice of Book One, Two, or Three, along with the accompanying downloadable audio, included in the workshop tuition.
Prerequisites
Basic piano and music-reading skills. No previous experience with improvisation, ear training, or music theory is required.
About Andy Ostwald
Andy Ostwald is a pianist and educator who holds a bachelor’s degree in piano performance and studied in New York with renowned jazz pianist Harold Mabern. He has performed throughout the United States and internationally. His trio album, Field Guide, is available on the Digital Victrola label.
