CJC Student Performances at The Sound Room

The California Jazz Conservatory presents end-of-semester performances by a variety of student ensembles. Evening One at the Sound Room in Oakland features two jazz repertory ensembles directed by Jeff Denson.

Jazz Repertory Ensemble (Friday Section): Daniel Owens on trombone, Jenelle Roccaforte on guitar, Jake Barrett on piano, Daniel Gerz on bass and Dylan Habegger on drums.

Jazz Repertory Ensemble (Thursday Section): Chris Sullivan on alto saxophone, Madison Bohrer on tenor saxophone, Luis Salcedo on guitar, Casey Mattson on piano, Colin McCuen on bass and Dillon Vado on drums and vibraphone.

About The Sound Room
The Sound Room is not your average jazz club. It is the downtown Oakland home of Bay Area Jazz & Arts, Inc (BAJA), a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization.  It is a music and art program by and for people who love music, especially jazz. BAJA focuses on programs that encourage understanding of Jazz, America’s original music tradition.

The California Jazz Conservatory (CJC) presents end-of-semester performances by a variety of student ensembles. Evening Two at the Sound Room in Oakland features the CJC’s Vocal Performance students, directed by Laurie Antonioli: Thea Rose Cristman, Ingrid Dirtzu, Kyra Gordon, Rick Gordon, Swami Iyer, Joanne Lee, Natalie Marshall, Susana Pineda, Jean Ramirez, and Katrina Totten. Featuring Matt Clark on piano, John Wiitala on bass and Bryan Bowman on drums.

CJC Student Performances at The Sound Room

The California Jazz Conservatory (CJC) presents end-of-semester performances by a variety of student ensembles. Evening Three at the Sound Room in Oakland features the CJC’s Brazilian Ensemble, directed by Marcos Silva, and a jazz repertory ensemble co-directed by Dann Zinn and Frank Martin.

Brazilian Ensemble: Susana Pineda, voice; Patrick Malabuyo on trombone, Jenelle Roccaforte on guitar, Danny Mertens on piano, Marcos Silva on bass and Zach Mondlick and Nick de Ryss on drums.

Jazz Repertory Ensemble: Dann Zinn on saxophone, Daniel Mandrychenko on guitar, Frank Martin on piano/keyboard, Danny Gerz on bass, and Mike Quigg on drums.
