Master Class With Sheila Jordan

This rare and intimate class with one of jazz music’s legendary singers, is not only an opportunity to get an insightful critique but an opportunity to experience the soulful personality of a veteran artist who has lived the jazz life. As a young woman, Sheila Jordan fell in love with the music of Charlie Parker. From that moment on, she set about learning the language of bebop and became a ground-breaking, innovative voice on the New York jazz scene. At the age of 83, Sheila continues to tour the world as a jazz ambassador and matriarch. Tireless, generous and also very humorous, Ms. Jordan makes a difference in the life of every student she comes in contact with. Students should bring two songs to perform in the workshop. An accompanist will be provided.
