An Introduction to Gypsy Jazz
- for guitarists and other instrumentalists
Acclaimed French guitarist Sébastien Giniaux leads a hands-on workshop on the basics of Gypsy Jazz style and technique. Students listen to and analyze a recorded example of the music of Django Reinhardt, learn the basics of rhythm and lead guitar playing as applied to various typical feels (medium swing, ballade, waltz, etc.), and study the basics of improvising in the style of this music. Jam session with all participants included!
